Shiver -Too Slim and the Taildraggers CD review
Veteran guitar slinger Tim “too Slim” Langford gets a little help from his friends on his Sixteenth album SHIVER. Backed by the dynamic new rhythm section of Polly O’Keary (bass) and Tommy Cook (drums), Too Slim now has the solid foundation allowing him to venture beyond his blues rock roots into soul and funk. Special guest appearances from Curtis Salgado, Duffy Bishop, Joe Doria and The Texas Horns, elevate the new CD beyond a typical power trio offering. Best among them the Memphis styled “In Your Corner,” the straight up funk of “She sees ghosts,” and the screaming title track. Too Slim closes with the twang and moan instrumental “Bucerius,” reminding us he is an old time guitar man after all.
