Rootwire 2K13: August 15 – 18, Logan, Ohio
Rootwire 2K13 is quickly approaching. In less than two weeks, Kaeppner’s Woods in Logan, Ohio, will be transformed into a completely immersive environment for festival-goers who are seeking something a little different from the norm.
This event, the creative project of Papadosio (jamtronica, Asheville, N.C.), offers attendees workshops, yoga, live painting and a visionary art gallery, art installations and sacred ceremony, in addition to a stellar lineup touting local, regional, national and international acts.
Musical artists — all handpicked by Papadosio — include Karsh Kale, Dopapod, Delhi 2 Dublin, Mike Rempel, The Human Experience, The Mike Dillon Band, and more. John Perry Barlow, lyricist for The Grateful Dead and The String Cheese Incident, will also be attending as a presenter.
And this festival isn’t just about what happens on stage. Extraordinary visual artists and performers of all types add to the spectacle of light and sound. Attention is also paid to facilitating growth and healing, with cultural and spiritual leaders, musicians, adventurers, and experts in various fields offering workshops and talks, all free with ticket purchase.
Papadosio continues to produce music with strong messages of unity, healing, and a return to the earth, and Rootwire is the band’s endeavor to create an exceptional, multi-dimensional affair. Now in its fourth year, 2013 promises to be the best yet for this intentional gathering.
Tickets are available on the event website. You can also view the full lineup and read bios of artists and presenters, as well as learn more about everything else Rootwire 2K13 has to offer.
