New Internet based radio show from Newcastle England
Hi; I’ve recently started broadcasting on Sunday Evenings 11-1am UK time via a community station in Newcastle called www.ne1fm.net which is currently internet based.
I also upload the programme to http://www.mixcloud.com/JumpingHotClubRadio/ on a ‘listen again’ basis.
If anyone knows the Jumping Hot Club in Newcastle you will know that we/they promote an eclectic mix of music from pure folk, through Country, Hill-billy, Alt-Country, Soul, Reggae, Blues and a lot of leftfield stuff. Basically Roots Music in every shape and format – the radio show mirrors that and will host interviews and sessions while also promoting regional acts.
There is already an interview with Nell Bryden on-line and this week’s show features another with Bap Kennedy and Alan Cackett, the Editor of Maverick magazine.
So far I’ve played tracks by NE English bands and singers plus Laura Cantrell, Captain Beefheart, Graham Parker, Elton John, Little Miss Higgins, Lucinda Williams, Howlin Wolf, Rory Gallagher, Waco Brothers, ZZ Top, BR5-49, Sandi Thom, Dexy’s, Natasha Haws, Augustus Pablo, Sam Cooke, Dawes and Robert Mitchum so there has to be something there that you like!
The theme tune to the show could easily be ‘Rex Bob Lowenstein’ by Mark Germino…hunt it down to see what I mean.
Phew – it’s fun too!
Give us a try and vote for the Twitter Track of the week while you are there.
