Americana Music Association sponsors fundraiser featuring famous songwriters’ handwritten lyrics
Handwritten lyrics by Dolly Parton among those up for auction.
Lyrics: An American Artform is the title of the Dec. 14 benefit event that will be held in honor of the Americana Music Association from 6 to 9 p.m. at downtown Nashville’s Tinney Contemporary Gallery, 237 Fifth Ave. North.
The Monday-evening event will feature the auction of lyrics from some of the greatest tunesmiths and musical icons of the era, as well as special performances from acclaimed singer/songwriter John Hiatt and friends. Hiatt is an Americana Lifetime Achievement for honoree for songwriting.
“I am honored that these great artists have taken the time to pen and donate their works,” says Americana Music Association Executive Director Jed Hilly. “Music is an artform. To have chance to own a visual keepsake like this is priceless.”
Tickets to the intimate fundraiser, which will include cocktails and hors d’ouerves from the Clean Plate Club, are $75 per person and may be purchased only by calling the Americana Music Association 615-386-6936.
