A Tribute to Neil Young at Carnegie Hall
(Jambands.com) City Winery/Knitting Factory founder Michael Dorf’s next tribute concert will honor the music of Neil Young. The performance will take place at New York’s Carnegie Hall on February 10, featuring 20 artists covering Young’s music. 100% of the net proceeds from this event benefit the following charities: Fixing Instruments for Kids in Schools, Church Street School for Music & Art, The Pinwheel Project, Music Unites, The American Symphony Orchestra and Young Audiences New York. Dorf’s previous concerts have honored Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M. and others.
Pete Yorn, J Mascis, Antibalas and Joe Purdy have joined the lineup for The Music of Neil Young benefit show at New York’s Carnegie Hall on February 10. Confirmed acts include: Patti Smith, Living Colour’s Vernon Reid, DeVotchKa, Shawn Colvin, Bettye LaVette, Bebel Gilberto, Aimee Mann, Keller Williams, The Roots, Cowboy Junkies and Mason Jennings. As previously reported, Larry Campbell will lead the show’s house band. The concert marks the seventh installment of an annual series that brings money for music education programs to underprivileged youth.
