Contest Giveaway: Signed copy of Rosanne Cash memoir, Composed
Rosanne Cash (firstborn child of Johnny Cash and Vivian Liberto) simply exudes talent. Her fourteen albums have charted eleven number-one singles. She is the author of a collection of short fiction, Bodies of Water, and the children’s book Penelope Jane: A Fairy’s Tale. Her essays and fiction have appeared in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and New York magazine.
(If you’re here, you probably know much of this already, but let’s continue.)
Her latest work, Composed, a memoir, is getting scads of rave reviews (Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, Boston Globe, The Atlantic) and is currently at #20 on the New York Times Bestseller List — after only slightly more than a week after hitting the shelves!
“Composed is filled with sublime moments of simple beauty and brutal reality . . . full of hope and extraordinary honesty. Cash is indeed an engaging writer.”
— Awaiting the Flood (Read our entire review HERE.)
“. . . a pointillistic memoir about growing up with and without her father, and about how she slid out from under his shadow to become a gifted artist in her own right.”
— New York Times
“Beautifully written meditations on love, death, family and redemption from the celebrated songwriter . . . An excellent memoir that ends on an encouraging note: ‘More to come.'”
— Kirkus (starred review)
“This is an extraordinarily and dauntingly honest book.”
— Elvis Costello
“This work is a rare treat. . . . Cash’s memoir sheds clear light on her talent and drive.”
— Publisher’s Weekly
Awaiting the Flood was fortunate enough to meet up with Rosanne backstage at a recent performance/reading at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, and she was gracious enough to sign a couple of copies of her book for us despite our incoherent and fawning blather. One book will go into our archives and the other will go to one lucky reader.
