The Dog Roses “Just Another Saturday”
London based five Piece band The Dog Roses have a new EP scheduled for release next month, the band are Mike Perrett (Vocals, Guitar), Charlie Newell (Fiddle), Andrew Stafford (Double Bass) Alan Wallace (Mandolin, Accordion) and Andy Phillips (Drums).
The EP is entitled “Just Another Saturday” and it’s a case of “short but sweet” – five tracks weighing in at around 17 minutes, the band’s sound is a melodic foot tapping country-bluegrass mix with hints of celtic thrown in for good measure, “addictive twangy tunes” says the press release and that about nails it, the songs are well written and combine both homegrown and Americana elements, despite the infectious foot-tappers the stand out track for me is the slower country tearjerker “Let the Bottle Take the Heartache” ,will definitely be keeping a lookout for a full length release from these guys.
You can listen to some more of The Dog Roses at their Myspace site and download some tracks from the bands previous releases from their website ,if that ain’t enough to keep you amused until the EP’s released then head on over to Reverbnation for some more from the band.
