• SPOTLIGHT VIDEO: The Jayhawks – Backwards Women

    As part of our brand-new Spotlight feature, we asked the Jayhawks, July’s Spotlight band, to make us a video. Nothing fancy, we said, just something that shows the band in daily life.

    They came back with this rehearsal of the song “Backwards Women,” from their new album, Back Roads and Abandoned Motels (read our review here). The video was taken on May 31 in their space in St. Paul, Minn., as they were gearing up for some summer tour dates.
