REM Contest
Aside from Murmur and Automatic, Reckoning is perhaps as influential an R.E.M. record as there is. While transforming college radio and idie rock at the time, the album has been able to stand the test of time years later. The band continues to delight hundreds of thousands with classics like So. Central Rain and a re-vamped Rockville, which has been delightfully redone with Mr. Mills on lead vocals. I wasn’t born until Lifes Rich Pageant but I can’t help but be taken back to the college rock scene of the 1980s and wish that my own college music scene could be of the same quality. This album is a classic and deserves to be celebrated yet again all these years later.
