Rebecca Haviland and Whiskey Heart -Chappaqua Performing Arts Center (w/Sloan Wainwright)
A beautiful Fall day called for equally as beautiful music, so I immediately wanted to catch Westchester’s own Rebecca Haviland and Sloan Wainwright for a lovely evening at Chappaqua Performing Arts Center in suburban New York.
The intimacy of this venue made for the perfect setting to allow Haviland to connect and interact with the crowd, which we absolutely adored. Opening up the evening Haviland brought a bold set of songs with her, which heard her performing current favorites as “Bourban” and “Bright City Lights.”
My first experience seeing and hearing the singer-songwriter in a live setting, she did not disappoint. In fact she went above and beyond, and is easily one of my favorite artists I have seen live this year.
Her charming sound floated through the the venue which added elements of surprise as she engaged the crowd. Somehow she was able to outdo herself, as the songs were even more ravishing live. From beginning to end, Haviland displayed true showmanship, taking complete advantage of the intimate space she was in to connect and interact with the audience.
