NYC Shows, Airplay and Compilation CDs!
Hi from NYC!
Hello everyone and hope that you’re all doing well. Writing here from my new ‘home’ NYC! As many of you know, I earned a much sought after publishing deal with a very respected publishers here. This also gained me a prestigious Artist Visa. so I am here from the UK for awhile. It’s been very exciting and I am working on new material and meeting other writers and musicians. I have already recorded two new songs with a member of terrific band and another Bob Harris fave, Hazy Malaze (which features Neal Casal, Ryan Adams and The Cardinals), that I’m absolutely thrilled with. It’s taken a little while getting myself all settled plus all the work promoting Clouds with Silver, which I did all myself, was a lot of hard work but as ever I’ll keep you posted on my news. Thanks again for all the support of Clouds with Silver and my other albums, podcasts across the world continuing to play tunes and those who regularly write with kind words. It means a lot to me. Also excited to hear that my song ‘Carolina Rain’ (from my very first record ‘Slipstream’) has been played on TSB Country Radio show “The Americana Collection” which reaches over 400 am/fm stations around the world. From the response from the audience and the DJ’s that listen to the show (they’re told that many DO lol) the song is a HIT!! So great to know one of my older songs is getting heard by their audience of over 2 million listeners!
Acoustic Magazine Feature Online
As I wrote at the beginning of the year I was featured in the February issue of ‘Acoustic Magazine’ – the UK’s number 1 dedicated acoustic guitar magazine which is now available in the US. For those of you who didn’t get a copy, the interview is now online here:
Songs on Compilation CDs
Access to Music is the UK’s leading designer and provider of popular music education, training and consultancy. My song ‘When You Come Home’ is featured on the new Atom Sounds: One CD which showcases the music of ex students and those in particular who have gained success and professional acclaim. Details here:
Awhile ago I provided harmonies on a terrific song ‘When Your Lips Move’ by Americana songwriter and artist Quiet Loner. The instrumentation is provided by my fantastic steel player Alan Cook. Excitingly, it will be track 3 on What’s Kickin Vol 4 which is released by Stovepony Records. These are the CD’s of the What’s Cookin’ night in London. The CD came out on June 17th and has national distribution through Cargo – which means it should be in shops and on i-tunes etc. They usually do a great job on promotion and previous CDs have had radio play on Radio 2. You can see the previous Volumes at http://www.stoveponyrecords.co.uk/index.html
I have a youtube channel featuring past live performancs posted by fans, promo videos and acoustic covers by some of my favourite artists – Morrissey, Ryan Adams, Joni Mitchell and more..also my cover of Razorlight’s ‘Wire to Wire’ has had over 31,000 views!
