Future of Music Coalition asks musicians + composers, “How are you making money from music?”
The Future of Music Coalition will be launching its Artist Revenue Streams project in just a few weeks and we wanted to make sure the No Depression community, including readers who are musicians and composers, are in the know!
In recent months, the Future of Music Coalition has been conducting artist interviews and creating case studies of musicians and composers working in every genre under the sun.
The third phase of the project is an anonymous, online survey open to US-based musicians and composers available September 6 to October 28, 2011. The data from all the research will be released in 2012.
The goals with the online survey are to give musicians and composers a way to:
* let their voices and stories be heard
* learn how other musicians and composers are earning money in the digital era
* provide media outlets and public with empirical data vs. anecdotes
* show policy makers how revenue has been affected
We also just announced the project in Billboard.
