Dang, it’s gettin’ busy out there…
The Seattle Americana music scene is getting some interesting movement these days, so I’ve noticed. My buddy Vince went to see Ben Gilmer and the Sidearms recently at the Tractor and brought back some excellent CDs, which he properly loaned to yours truly for my own personal perusal. Big thumbs up for “Heart That Burns.”
Meantime, Vince’s band, Vince MTZ and the Great Blue Yonder, has a batch of shows lined up after a knockout set at the Tractor back in December ’10 and a shortbutsweet set at the Can Can last week opening for Austin’s Paul Banks and the Carousels‘ wonderful passel o’ tunes.
The ‘Yonder will be playing the Conor Byrne Pub in Ballard on Saturday, Feb 12, and at the Tractor Tavern on Tuesday, March 15. In the interim, Vince has written a new song based on the book “High Fidelity” and will be performing it at the Bushwick Book Club at the Century Ballroom on (dig it!) Valentine’s Day.
And the upcoming Tractor show promises to hold some intriguing surprises for fans of the band.
Sure like to see y’all out there!
