• “Coal Minin’ Man” – The Roys _ New single

    The Roys new CD will be on Rural Rhytm Records. Coal Minin’ Man is the first single from the CD. It is a classic up tempo bluegrass song which tells a story. Thanks to groups like The Roys, we have the traditional sound of bluegrass. The sound is really full, with fiddle, guitar, mandolin and all bluegrass instruments, but used as accompaniment , not much as far as lead breaks for the instruments, but there are plenty of fills and a couple of short breaks on mandolin and Dobro. What makes the song is the vocals and the beautiful use of the instruments. If the other material is any thing like this, this will be a great new CD to look forward to.
