CD Review – Rigney Family Bluegrass
The very best thing that Andrew and Grant have going for them are their parents. Not only do they back these young men very well musically, they have a very obvious desire to see their children succeed. On the six tunes with banjo on them, Dad has unselfishly stepped back and let Andrew display his banjo licks on three of them. And Mom has taken her role as bass player to heart and excelled at holding this unit right in time and right where they all need to be. On a regional level, they are holding their own and gaining new fans. Some work needs to be done to take it to the “Big Time.” Hearing these two play “Hop, Skip and a Jump” is well worth the price to have this CD in your collection.
