Brian Keane – Coming Home
Brian Keane has quickly become one of my favorite new artists to hear about. He has some real talent in his storytelling and has a knack for sucking the listener into his world. His view on tough life events and struggles is both honest and refreshing. Brian sings about some major life events like having kids, rekindling old relationships, leaving hometowns, and broken hearts all while making you feel like you’re in the middle of it.
Found a preview stream of the first couple releases of his new album (posted below) and here are my thoughts:
The album starts out with a driving beat in “You Can’t Go Home”, with a nod to small towns and how they impact you while you’re growing up but change when you move away.
“Bar Lights” is a real strong contender for my favorite so far. Talking about the magic of meeting up with an old friend in a bar and how it can bring a relationship back to life. Makes me want to call up an old friend and go grab a beer at the local dive.
I’ve truly enjoyed discovering Brian’s sound, his voice is pretty smooth with just the right amount of grit and twang. Add on the kick-ass band that’s backing him and it gets hard to take the headphones off. So here’s to my new favorite artist and his awesome new album “Coming Home”!
