2011 Sasquatch Lineup Announced
If you’ve never been out to the Columbia River Gorge Amphitheater, you’re missing one of the most naturally beautiful outdoor venues I’ve ever personally been to. If you’ve yet to spend a Memorial Day Weekend there for the annual Sasquatch! Festival, then this might be the year to remedy that.
Sasquatch! is more than just one of my favorite music festivals each year, but it’s also possibly one of the most consistently comprehensive festivals in the U.S., presenting everything from indie rock to electronica, bluegrass, and hip-hop. In other hands, such a diverse lineup could feel a little chaotic. (To be fair, any festival with more than three stages feels a little chaotic to anyone over 25.) But, this one is curated by Adam Zacks, who has also been behind the last two No Depression Festivals. So, more prevalent than all of Sasquatch’s cacophonous chaos is its spirit of presenting great music, regardless of style or audience.
This year’s initial lineup was announced last night, and includes some ND community favorites, like Wilco, the Decemberists (who gave one of my favorite Sasquatch! mainstage performances a few years ago), Sharon Van Etten, Moondoggies, Secret Sisters, and so much more (like co-headliners Foo Fighters, Modest Mouse, and Death Cab for Cutie).
