Chet Flippo, Remembered
It was overshadowed by the news about James Gandolfini, but Chet Flippo, who had an enormous effect on rock journalism, basically bringing country into the mainstream, has just died.
I didn’t know Chet , although we were Facebook “friends” (whatever that may mean), but had enormous respect for his work, and the tributes pouring in from people’s lives he touched are obviously sincere, and heartfelt.
Here’s a link to one of the obituaries, and to two of the many great pieces he’s written, about the Stones and Dolly Parton.
