I was in high school when the first album came out , and loved it. I'm from a small town in N.Idaho and I was really indifferent to grunge when it came out. I was happy that when it did a lot of other bands got to sneak in to the party , like…

I've always appreciated Johnny Cash for always being vocally for the under dog - to my knowledge he has to be the first mainstream artist to voice dissent in the country music industry and get (somewhat) away with it. That being said - and I…

Parsons deserves HOF

Saying Gram Parsons was more of a rocker is insane!!! He was more country than the pop crap swill perpetually groomed and shoved down our throats by Nashville. That's like saying Willie Nelson should be considered more of a jazz artist than a country artist because of the chords he uses on the guitar or the way he phrases his vocal melodies. It must be all of that steel guitar that turned you off.

The Dave Rawlings Machine @ The Showbox In Seattle

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to see the Dave Rawlings Machine tear the house down in Seattle. I was very curious to see how the dynamic was going to play between the musicians on stage , with Gillian Welch seemingly being the only topic of conversation over heard befor the show. A lot of people seemed to be vaguely aware that he was her duet partner , or that the band was made up of Old Crow Medicine Show members-of course no one seemed to really know who the hell Benmont Tench was when he… Continue
