Still trying to fix my ipod after having my computer wiped. Lost volume settings, song lengths, etc. Got an email this morning with a free song by Adam Cohen (yes his son) called "Eleanor (live)". Think I like it. Want to look into more of…

Been one hell of a long week. Had four wisdom teeth taken out last Friday and promptly got a massive sinus infection. The operation apparently went beautifully. Not as much pain on the tooth front as on the infected sinuses front. Finally back to…

When did loving the Beatles or the Monkees become something to be ashamed of? :) I just bought season 1 + 2 of the Monkees for old times sake. "Daydream Believer" has always been killer.

Thanks - I really needed that. It's been one hell of a week. Knew from twitter that a new album was in the works so good to see a relatively close release date.

Not so much the voice as it was the musical vibe (is there such a thing?) on the one song. Could've been a particular chord change or riff. Can't remember the title. Believe it was in the later half of the album.

Listened in full - little too much swing/R&B in there for me. Odd that I detected a bit of a Mellencamp vibe on the one song. Am I the only one to hear this? (I like Mellencamp btw)

Thanks Jack - will give it an in depth checkout. Nothing better than falling for a new artist with a back catalogue to explore.

Attempting The Unthinkable Regarding Bob Dylan

Now... if it weren't for being today of all days I'm not sure I would even attempt what I've been trying to do for the past hour or so on Facebook. I've decided to bring my attempt over here perhaps for a couple of reasons (one being I thought it'd be suitable and two being to prolong having to make final decisions).  First I'll explain what I'm trying to attempt, then what sparked the attempt, and lastly why today of all days.

I'm trying to pick my top ten favourite Bob…

THOUGHTS ON BOB DYLAN AND ALTER EGOS

If you could change your whole life around, from beginning to end, and make it a completely different story… what would you do? What would you say? Envy is such a complicated thing. It’s easy enough to wish you’ve done what others have accomplished, been where others have been… It only gets complicated when you add in reasons and desires. Has your life thus far been good enough for you?

“My past is so complicated you wouldn’t believe it, man.”

Bob Dylan’s quote rings many a… Continue

HANK WILLIAMS III - A Few Thoughts (From Me) Regarding 'Rebel Within', ETC.

Hank Williams... III.

Now, I'm sure that everyone reading the line above had a different thought, reaction, opnion, etc.

I just finished listening to 'Rebel Within'. Hmm... I started listening with a recently read interview fresh in my mind. Just the other day I was scanning music sites and came across a Hank III interview. In it he proclaims the record to be a throw-away. Something not worth very much - put together only to fulfill his contract with his label. Nothing more.… Continue
