Hey Craig .... I just sent you a friend request here at ND and in my lil' message I wrote that KJP is "an inspiration," and I get back here (after taking a peek at your page ... and the "It Makes No Difference" video) and…

Tom .... Greetings from Melbourne, AUSTRALIA.  Thanks so very much for posting this video. I believe that John Fullbright is a prodigious talent who has the potential to be anything he seeks to be. Having been to The Blue Door some years ago on…

Michael D Hansen commented on Easy Ed's blog post 'the best version of a cover song...ever'
Ed .... Thanks for The Beatnix thing. Not certain that one came from it but an Aussie TV music, talk, variety show some years ago always finished with the featured guest artist doing "Stairway." Possibly the most famous (infamous ??) one…

Yep .... love that album .... particularly "Love Letters" & "Sick And Tired."  So deep in the groove. And I'm with Mary about "Dig."

Michael D Hansen commented on Michaela O'Brien's blog post 'Greg Trooper :: Upside-Down Town (Feb 8) & Tour Dates'
Thanks for posting this Michaela ... "Troop" is a treasure and I did not know about this new release. Just downloaded it and it's playing as I write this. The song "Could Have Been You" just finished and it's a good…

Michael D Hansen commented on Kyla Fairchild's video
Kyla .... Possibly one of the most exquisite songs ever. What a shame that Julie seems to be not well enough to tour or perform in public much. Have seen Buddy play many times and what a whole-hearted, gracious man he is. Julie and Buddy's love…

An interesting discussion on the cruise it will be without a doubt .... an just about all bases covered in the responses so far as I can see. My special favorites include Julie Miller, Eilen Jewell, Nanci Griffith and Carloyn Wonderland. I'm…

Michael D Hansen commented on Grant Alden's blog post 'Jesse Dayton and the vicissitudes of stardom: a mystery'
Dang Grant .... Look what you started here !! And Kim says she hasn't seen such a polarized discussion here for a while. Frankly, the discussion doesn't seem to me to be much polarized at all, just that lots of folks are making the same…

How exciting for you this must be ... moving from one side of the continent to the other. Just so happens that I have recently been listening to some stuff by an Asheville duo Trent Wagler & Jay Lapp who collectively are The Steel Wheels. Their…

This is kinda weird I know, but as far as I know my favorite John Hiatt song doesn't appear on any John Hiatt recording, and I don't know whether John ever played it to an audience. "Train To Birmingham" has almost become a…

Thanks UAG for a terrific piece on a major, major artist. Maybe you are aware of this already, but there's an interesting side story about Johnson's song "God Moves On The Water" concerning the lyrics of the last verse. As we…

Thank you for the comments on my article on Blind Willie Johnson, and for the additional information. The article is also posted at the Plug In Music Magazine web site: http://www.pluginmusic.com/features.php?page=blindwilliejohnson . It's always nice to meet and communicate with other music lovers, especially those who share similar tastes and thoughts, etc. Texas has given the world some incredible musicians and singer/songwriters, true, but so has Australia. Just to name a few recent ones, I have been listening to a lot of The Barons of Tang, Pete & the Tar Gang, and the Radical Surf Ninjas from Hell on Fire, and Sean K. Preston (this last an Australia native who now resides in Baltimore, Maryland). There are a lot more, as I'm sure you know. And I occasionally cover them at the publications for which I write. Thanks again. And take care.Delete Comment

Hi Michael!
Thanks so much for the note. It has seriously been a long time :o) I'm not overly familiar with this site yet - especially not any of the interactive stuff - but I'm liking the articles. Great to see you are still following the best music!! Hope all is well down under.
Take Care
