SPOTLIGHT: Samantha Crain Recreates An Evening Walk on ‘Holding to the Edge of Night’ [VIDEO]

Chances are, if you’re not completely locked down right now, you’re doing a lot of walking. It’s one way we can get out of the house and get a little fresh air with a fairly low risk of coming into close contact with other people amid the pandemic.
From her kitchen table in Norman, Oklahoma, Samantha Crain tells No Depression readers that she’s been walking a lot herself, and she plays us the song “Holding to the Edge of Night” from her new album, A Small Death, out today. It’s a dreamy description of a slowly moving landscape both around us and within, full of echo and mystery, just like the waning time of day in which the song is set.
“It’s about that great feeling of talking walks at night, which I’ve been doing a lot of during the virus that shall not be named,” she says, then lets us tag along for her contemplative musical journey. Enjoy the video below:
