After a series of distressed and distressing posts on her Facebook page this week, which have been noticed by friends and by the media, Sinéad O’Connor posted a note approximately an hour ago announcing that she had taken an overdose.
Half a million people, those who have “liked” her page, can see the note, which reads, in part, “The last two nights finished me off. I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in ireland, under another name[.]” It accuses family and former family members of having driven her to this, stating “well done guys, you’ve finally got rid of me.”
Should you know O’Connor personally, or know someone who does, get in touch with her. The Gardaí have been informed about the post.
