Screen Door Porch are Seadar Rose (Vocals, Acoustic & Electric Guitars) and Aaron Davis (Vocals, 6-string & 12-string Acoustic Guitars, Electric Guitars, Harmonica, Banjo, Electric Dobro, Mandolin) the duo fit snugly into the broad church of Americana with their cultured collection of roots songs gathered together on their self titled début release.
Vocal duties are shared and complimentary, Rose is blessed with an expressive earthy voice that sits well with Davis’ ragged edged drawl, both come together having already worked solo and released several albums and EP’s, for the album they’ve employed additional musicians to add further colour to their music including piano, cello, fiddle, pedal steel – the album blends various elements of the roots palette into a cohesive set of tunes, both contribute individual tracks and combine their song writing ability to a pair of the tracks to good effect. If you’re after pedigree the duo have shared the bill with a host of luminaries including Willie Nelson, Wilco, Brian Wilson, Yonder Mountain String Band, James McMurtry, Grace Potter and Kaki King.
