Rosanne Cash Announces 2010 Tour Appearances
Rosanne Cash will make a series of upcoming television and live appearances beginning in January as she rides a wave of critical praise for her current album “The List.” As good as the album is, Rosanne performing the songs live is a different experience as she shakes off the studio’s sheen.
She was interviewed by New York Times music critic Jon Pareles at the New York Times Arts and Leisure Weekend last night.
She will also follow up recent late-night visits to The Late Show With David Letterman and The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson by appearing on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien on January 12. Cash will perform The List’s first single “Sea of Heartbreak,” which earned Cash her ninth career Grammy Award nomination when the duet with Bruce Springsteen was nominated for “Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals” last month. Cash will also perform and be interviewed on Tavis Smiley on January 14.
Rosanne has also announced a series of live shows for 2010, including the one do not miss performance with Loudon Wainwright III at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City on January 1. She must have a special affinity for the Rubin, it’s people and the neighborhood as she has appeared there numerous times. (It’s also way convenient for me as Rayna lives on the same block.)
She will also perform a free, online concert live from The Foundry in Long Island City, NY, on January 21 for BillboardLive.com. This unique performance will be webcast live, free, and in HD at http://billboardlive.com beginning at 9 p.m. EST / 6 p.m. PST and can also be viewed on an iPhone or iPod Touch. For those who miss the live broadcast, the concert will also be available via video-on-demand on the site.
Cash’s first-ever covers album, “The List” is a collection of 12 classic songs she selected from a list of “100 Essential Country Songs” that her legendary father Johnny Cash gave her when she was a teenager. The album has earned widespread praise from media outlets across the country, including NPR Music, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, the Associated Press, USA Today, Time, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, People, the Los Angeles Times, Billboard, Elle, Paste, Relix, American Songwriter, and the San Francisco Chronicle.
