Rocky Mountain Folks Festival is coming up Aug. 13-15, 2010, in Lyons, Colo. Though every year on the Planet Bluegrass ranch is a great time, this year is Folks Fest’s 20th Anniversary. To celebrate, they’re welcoming an incredible lineup, including John Prine, The Swell Season, Ani DiFranco, Greg Brown, Richard Thompson, Darrell Scott, and so much more. We had so much fun sending a member of the ND community down to blog from Telluride this year, we’re teaming up with the fine folks at Planet Bluegrass again to give someone a pair of three-day passes to Folks Fest (including onsite camping and full backstage access). Our lovely winning blogger will be tasked simply with reporting each day from the festival, with a review of what they saw and highlights from the schedule, so that we can all enjoy the fun.
To enter, all you need to do is write a blog on this site about Folks Fest. Some topic ideas: why you’re looking forward to catching any of the artists on this year’s lineup, the history of the festival, or share a story or memory you have from Folks Fests past. The topic is up to you, as long as it sticks to Folks Festival.
The winner must be able to actually attend the festival. Transportation is not included in the prize. You must also be able to take your own laptop, so that you can blog from the festival for No Depression.
NOTE: All entries must be made in the form of blog posts created on this site. Links to external blogs, entries via Twitter or Facebook will not be counted. Comments posted to this blog will not be considered as blog posts.
