Merry Christmas From The Three Kings – Freddie, Albert, and BB
Though unrelated by blood, three men named King were arguably the most influential blues guitarists of the past sixty years. Such luminaries as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Carlos Santana all credit the Kings as being major influences on their playing styles.
Subtle differences distinguish each of the men’s music, but each of them is/was a blues master in his own right.
As of this writing, BB King is still performing at age 88, however Freddie King died in 1976 at the still young age of 42, and Albert King passed in 1992 at the age of 69.
Both Freddie and Albert died in the month of December.
Here ia a sampling of each of the Three Blues Kings and their take on a blues soaked Christmas Carol.
