I haven’t posted anything on No Depression for a long time. I seem to get bogged down with FB, Twitter, Google+, Web Site and other stuff. But over the past year things have been going well and I have just been reminded by an email, just what a cool site this is.
So news, after the release of my first album, I did a self funded tour of Holland and Belgium and was put in touch with Black and Tan Records up there in Holland. I signed with them and they asked me for a solo album. No frills, just 1 take, no overdubs, acoustic and voice, stripped down and honest.
I recorded the album in my apartment here in Barcelona , Spain. I live on the top floor and the tiny room where I record has the door that opens on to the roof terrace. I left the door and windows open for the recording to give it that extra sense of down home, DIY recording.
Since then the record has received some great reviews from around the globe, reached number 25 in the Euro Americana Charts and I’m back on tour to Holland and Belgium next week.
