Lisa Bianco – Post Data
The thing about Lisa Bianco is her music draws you in, you get lost in listening to her sing her songs in your ear. Her music is inspirational and evocative of heartache and uplifting instances when life couldn’t get any better. It’s melodic and substantial and it’s a tiny bit hard on a couple of songs, which is fine, a good album needs to be a little rugged in some spots.
The title track, Post Data, describes our technological advanced life, how we can reach across the world to make friends with someone we’ve never met, or to contact an old friend we haven’t seen in a while, listen to it, read the lyrics and you’ll understand just how relevant it is. The Swan Song of the album is Sideways, it’s a beautiful track that should be played several times a day by every radio station in the country. It’s describes how things can get out of control sometimes but we come out of it just fine.
I have zero complaints about this album, the singing is wonderful to listen to, the songwriting is sheer poetry, and her band effortlessly conveys Lisa’s ideas through their music. I just can’t say too many good things about this album; it’s a great album from a very talented singer/songwriter.
Oh, and she lists Pearl Jam as one of her influences, that’s always a plus.
