Justin Townes Earle will get back on the road in November
Justin Townes Earle made some news last month when, after having what we’ll just call a bad night in Indianapolis, he wound up in jail and then, days later, on his way to rehab in Nashville. A whole month worth of tour dates got postponed, and Americana fans far and wide sent him their best wishes on his recovery.
Well, some time has passed and it sounds like he’s doing pretty well with the program. Sacks & Co. released a statement to the press yesterday that Earle would be hitting the road after Thanksgiving for a jaunt across the south before heading back home to NYC (and Boston). His openers on the tour will be Jessica Lea Mayfield, Bobby Bare, Jr., and Caitlin Rose, depending on the date.
Couldn’t help but share.
From the press release:
After spending the last several weeks in a residential treatment program, Justin Townes Earle is planning his return to work in support of his acclaimed third album Harlem River Blues (Bloodshot Records). Following the completion of his voluntary treatment for addiction issues, Earle will resume his nationwide tour at the end of November. Marking his highest chart position to date, Harlem River Blues debuted at #47 on the Top 200 in overall Soundscan and continues to receive widespread critical praise. The Washington Post Express calls it “…exquisite…,” while Relix magazine declares, “Earle’s weathered, timeless vocals elevate these songs toward greatness.” Additional rescheduled fall tour dates will be announced shortly.
