Handicapping HSBG
It’s here! The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass schedule was published today!
Every year for the last 10 years Warren Helman, a Republican hedge fund billionaire has put a smile on the face of every music lover and hippy west of the Continental Divide by throwing the biggest party San Francisco has ever seen. Absolutely free to the public.
Every year for the last 10 years we all look at the schedule like basketball junkies scouring the brackets during March Madness. It’s a delicious dilemma because no matter how hard you try, somebody you love is going down. There are are so many great bands playing all at once something’s gotta give.
This year Mrs Sepulveda gave me a simple guideline to follow. “You pick anybody you want but we will be seeing Dr. John on Sunday and we will be seeing Chuck Prophet Friday and Saturday.”
So it looks like it’s going to shake down this way:
Friday
Chuck Prophet & Friends at The Make-Out Room
Saturday
Kris Kristofferson & Merle Haggard
Gillian Welch & David Rawlings
Chuck Prophet & Friends at The Makeout Room
Sunday
And that’s about all the stupendously great music, people, sun, wind and fog I can handle for awhile. You’ll have to chisel the smile off my face.
