Going To New York
I type with 2 fingers so I’m usually the last to update my blog postings. But it has to be done. I’m sitting in my office – The Beanery Coffeehouse down by the train station – and using the wi-fi. I do this several days a week, going home with crossed eyes a real caffeine buzz, and hopefully a few more gigs or at least the beginnings of some. And an update to the blog.
I fly away to Buffalo, New York on Friday, October 1. I get in at about 11 PM and hopefully will be met by the organizer of the Wellsville gig. Wellsville is about and hour and a half away from Buffalo and I play there the next day – at the wonderful Wellsville Creative Arts Center. That is an awesome gig. Every city should have one of these – and after the revolution it will be required(!)… That’s on Saturday. I’ll hang for a day or so and then head back to Buffalo to visit with my sister in law Moira Keenan. Then it’s public transit out to Geneseo and a gig at Sweet Briar. If you’re anywhere within a thousand miles go there! It’s a restored colonial mansion that’s been turned into a spa and gathering rooms, conference space and of course music events. That’s me for this month!
Next day is the People’s Voice Café in New York City for a gig with my old friend and political satirist Dave Lippman. I love New York, as most sane people do – in small doses. There was a time when I could have lived there but that was a long time ago. But still…. The great wonder of it all. New York!
I’ll be back out west on the 12th. Then we head down to san Francisco to house sit and so more gigs. Also going to the Far West Folk Alliance Conference! That’ll be good…!
More to come.
