Exclusive advance album stream: Corb Lund – ‘Cabin Fever’
One of the most memorable shows I ever saw in Seattle was Corb Lund at the Sunset Tavern. It was a dark and rainy night (aren’t they all?) and Zoe Muth was opening. There were maybe 10 people there, if I’m being generous, but the music was some of the best straight-up country music I’ve witnessed in such a setting. Lund, for his part, played entirely solo, proving he was perfectly capable of wielding any size audience by his lonesome, making every song count.
When I saw him again at Merlefest last year, it was quite a different scene – the tent was packed and his band was on hand to deliver the goods. Indeed, Over the course of his six-album career, Corb Lund has become known as one of Alberta’s finest. Along with his band the Hurtin’ Albertans, Lund has packed away nearly a dozen Canadian Country Music Awards, not to mention nominations from the AMA and JUNO folks.
Now he’s gearing up for an 2-Disc deluxe package release on Aug. 14 and the fine folks at New West Records have offered us an exclusive preview stream of the acoustic version. I’m digging it hard. See what you think and share your first impressions in the comments:
