Dead Man’s Bones, A Gospel Choir, and a Cemetery Add up to a Creepy, Cool Video
Disclaimer: I was sent the following clip by a publicist, which usually causes me to hit the delete button faster than you can say “record company shill.” Something about the description of this one piqued my interest enough to check it out, however, and I’m mighty glad I did–I’m posting it here because I think you need to see it, also.
Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields, the actors, are the creative weirdos behind Dead Man’s Bones, and this short film of them playing a song in a cemetery, complete with a gospel group kicking in vocals on the second verse, is amazing. It comes across like a field recording, or old black and white newsreel footage, almost, giving the band’s already southern gothic creepiness some added realism.
