CD review – RB Stone -Lonesome Travelers Blues
RB Stone is living proof the independent spirit of America is alive and well, as are the blues he loves so much. Stone has traveled the world and gathered a wealth of knowledge that he pours into every note of his fifteenth self produced album Lonesome Travelers Blues. With a voice that came right of central casting ,Stone’s weathered baritone accompanied by his fine acoustic guitar and spirited harp playing define the archetype of what is a modern blues cowboy. The ten original songs are produced and performed with professional precision, covering all the staples of the blues from classic twelve bar, Delta and hard boogie blues to countrified roots rock, which blues purists will love. Critics may say that this is the same old blues, but there is something to be said for honoring the traditions of a genre and writing new compositions within timeless forms and thus keeping them alive. RB Stone is doing just that, taking the blues to the world and keeping it alive and kicking.
