Brother Wiley Congregates with Fellow Songwriters before Official Album Release
Last weekend we played the 8th Annual Spokane Songwriter Festival on a farm in Spokane, MO. It’s a gathering of hundreds of Americana and indie musicians and fans, mostly from Missouri and Arkansas, who share a friendship with Big Smith frontman, Mark Bilyeu. The music this year came from the likes of Cindy Woolf, Auset Music Project, Charliehorse, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Sweetwater Abilene, and dozens more.
We played a couple of songs from our new album, and ended with a rewritten song from our first album, that slid into a hip-hop commentary on BP oil, played to the tune of Tom Petty’s “Honeybee.”
It was great to have the challenge of playing for our fellow songwriters, receiving their encouragement, before our album release show this Saturday at Lindberg’s in Springfield, MO.
Music is good.
