I started in photography in 1970. I was working on a college oriented newspaper in Philadelphia, The Drummer, and the photographer there kind of inspired me to take it up. A lot of what the paper covered was the local music scene. I didn't get to photograph much but when I started going to the Philadelphia Folk Festival I did get an unapproved and uncredentialed opportunity to shoot a music festival. The rest is history. Started regularily getting credentials and shooting music festivals around the Philadelphia area around 2004. I have been lucky to be able to have expanded that to also shooting a lot of concerts. I always look forward to the Philadelphia Folk Festival as it never ceases to thrill me. After all it was my first.
