A Special ECMA Thank You From TurTle
(This is from Denis “TurTle” Arsenault – a special thanks for winning this year’s ECMA Country Album Of The Year)
Thank you, as a sentiment, doesn’t cut it when I try to express the gratitude I feel towards all the people who were an integral part of making Last of The Freemen a reality. The 10 days I spent at the Tragically Hip’s Bathouse studio, making this record with Josh Finlayson, Aaron Holmberg, Michael Johnston, Angela Desveaux, Alex Madsen, Brock Gallant, Danny Roy, Jason J-Byrd Nicholson and Serge Samson, were a confirmation that I really was living a lifelong dream. I’ll always reflect fondly on the the sense of wonder, freedom, inspiration, friendship and hope that I experienced during that time. And I want all of those who were involved in bringing this album to the world, to know how truly, truly blessed I feel, to have had the opportunity to work with them, whether directly, or indirectly. Because of them, I’ll always have a collection of songs that I’ll be able go back and listen to, thoroughout my life and remember the amazing times I’ve had on my musical journey. And that’s worth more than anything money could ever buy.
Sincerely,
TurTle
