Yeah...I agree as well, Michael.  You're exceptional in recognizing the source for "Rainbow."  It's such a short scene in the book and movie, many folks don't recognize it.  Interesting how they used that minor chord progression for the intro, it sounded like a broken down carousel.  Can't find any studio recording of Cash doing 'Rainbow.'

Thanks Terry.  A great song.  Kris has commented that Steinbeck should probably be credited with a co-write.  I agree.  The first time I heard the song, I recognized the exact scene from the book.

Nice interview.  It's too bad they cut out the portion with John performing "Here Comes That Rainbow Again".  I didn't know he'd ever recorded it.  It's a great song and I think it's one of Kris's personal favorites.
