Comment by Terry Roland on March 12, 2013 at 5:05pm Yeah...I agree as well, Michael. You're exceptional in recognizing the source for "Rainbow." It's such a short scene in the book and movie, many folks don't recognize it. Interesting how they used that minor chord progression for the intro, it sounded like a broken down carousel. Can't find any studio recording of Cash doing 'Rainbow.'
Comment by Michael Carley on March 12, 2013 at 4:56pm Thanks Terry. A great song. Kris has commented that Steinbeck should probably be credited with a co-write. I agree. The first time I heard the song, I recognized the exact scene from the book.
(I just got Kris's new album--outstanding!)

Comment by Michael Carley on March 12, 2013 at 3:53pm Nice interview. It's too bad they cut out the portion with John performing "Here Comes That Rainbow Again". I didn't know he'd ever recorded it. It's a great song and I think it's one of Kris's personal favorites.
Did you have snacks?
