Amazing to just think for a moment that it would ever be possible for a Frank Sinatra to sing with some rock stars, that Tony Bennett would virtually make a career of singing with the younger singers and be successful at it. Too bad so many of our elders of the Big Band era aren't around to see this musical miracle. Bennett is simply superb here -- on fire -- singing a rock and roll singer's song. What a brilliant interpreter. Of course, Joel has gotten older too. But, it just goes to prove that our generation COULD write great songs -- as memorable as anything those Tin Pan Alley songwriters did, including Gershwin and Cole Porter. I think those old men would have been proud of this moment. Billy Joel's homage to New York City -- classic.
