Just noticed you still have some back-issues for sale. I was an original subscriber and am missing only a couple of issues I think. Have been meaning to track the missing issues down for years. I think I will break them out this weekend and see what I need. Hope you still have copies in your archives.

Loved that MAG but I love your 'lectric edition just as much. Keep on keeping on.

Is there a way to stop people posting auto start videos.  There's one starts up now when I go to the ND home page.  Took me a while to work out where it was coming from as it drowned out the music I was listening to at the same time.  Probably one of those street team things. Thanks

Just subscribed today!  First became aware of Marty in the mid seventies at the old Livonia, Georgia bluegrass festivals when he was with Lester's band.  Been a big fan ever since!  All the teen girls (and my wife) went crazy when he was on stage!

I would like to get the word out about the 2012 Oak Grove Folk Music Festival (www.oakgrovefestival.com) on 8/3/12, 8/4/12 & 8/5/12 at the Oak Grove Theater in Verona, VA.

Featured acts include:

John McCuthceon

The Steel Wheels

Tracy Grammer

Sierra Hull & Highway 111

Michael Reno Harrell

Chamomile and Whiskey

This festival, going on for 33 years, is the best small festival you never heard of and would be a good excuse to visit the Shenandoah Valley and Staunton, VA. (www.visitstaunton.com). Come find out why Smithsonian magazine listed Staunton as a top ten small town in the country!

Happy to do our part to support you Kyla b/c you have done the heavy lifting keeping ND alive that in turn has become vital to supporting, educating and perpetuating  American roots music, which includes all of us in zydeco and Cajun music as well.  You do damn nice work Kyla. All the best for a joyful and healthy 2012!

Just got a really nice email from Kyla thanking me for a modest donation. It's the least I can do and honestly we feel a certain level of resposibility to support such high quality work like ND. It's why we support the Blues Foundation, MusiCares, The Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation and other orgs/NGO's that support blues/roots. I am an American Roots music artist. I will own this title 'til I die, so I better do my part now to make it count, so that I'll have no regrets later. Peace, love and zydeco y'all!

The Swinging Steaks and Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez perform. A five-man band out of Boston, Swinging Steaks are among the originators of the current roots rock/alternative country movement. Fueled by singer/songwriters Jamie Walker and Tim Giovanniello,  the group’s material explores a rich diversity of musical Americana from full tilt rockers to mandolin-driven melodies and soulful ballads. Known as “The Beehive Queen” for her outrageous, mile-high hairdo, Christine Ohlman is the current, long-time vocalist with the Saturday Night Live Band and rocks the house with her mix of blues and Americana.

"If I were to trace the genealogy of the country music Outlaw, it would start with Bobby Bare, roll through Willie & Waylon and that whole gang, follow Cash through the late 90′s, and end up in the country music underground with people like Peewee Moore as possibly the perfect example of the Outlaw lineage in the present day"
