So many to choose, so little time! I'll just go with the last one I saw him sing live: Lake Marie. :)

"Hello in There" because it is so poignant, and "Illegal Smile" because it reminds me of the good old days!! I live in Fullerton, so either show would work for me. ;)

In Spite Of Oursevelves, specially last sunday. The asmosphere on Twitter was so nice and inspiring (because of the marathon at the city of Rotterdam), so I decided to play this song on blip.fm. A few hours later Oh Boy started following me, and I started following Oh Boy. Which finally lead me to this place, which I already know, because I had an account on No Depression for years.

Big Fat Love. My dad introduced me to John Prine, and this was the song that made me fall in love with the music. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of my dad. I even plan on getting the words "Big Fat Love" incorporated into the tattoo I'm getting in honor of my dad.

P.S. I live in LA, and my 26th birthday is this month, so this would be a great bday present! ;)

Each one of your songs reminds me of someone in my family. Spanish Pipedream was our family theme song, but That's the Way the World Goes Round always had a special place in my heart, too! Grandpa Was a Carpenter really hits close to home, but I Wanna Be With You Always is a song my dad would sing to my mom, and it always brings me back to good times. Angel from Montgomery, (because I lived in Montgomery, Texas)- Flag Decal, Dear Abby, Automobile, all the old ones!! John, you have a special story telling ability that any touches all cornerstones of America. Oh, who could forget Illegal Smile??? How many times have we looked into that same bowl of oatmeal and lost? I guess I cannot pick any one- so take a half an enchilada, put it in a hot dog bun and haul me away! In spite of ourselves, we'll end up sitting on a rainbow, with nothing but big ole hearts dancing in our eyes! Thanks, John, for all the great memories!
