Win a copy of Van Morrison's 'Moondance' Deluxe Edition

**NOTE: This contest is now closed. Congratulations to Rusha Porscher Lee and Larry Slavens - our winners! And, thanks to everyone who entered.

Van Morrison has been one of the most beloved singer-songwriters since he arrived on the scene with his breakthrough album Moondance. Recorded in the autumn of 1969, Moondance has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and called one of the Greatest Albums of All Time by Rolling Stone.

This Tues., Oct. 22, the fine folks at Warner Brothers Records will release a remastered deluxe edition of Moondance. The reissue will come in three formats - fans can get a single-disc copy of the remastered original album. There's a 2-CD set featuring that remastered album as well as 11 previously unreleased tracks. Then, there's the 5-CD Deluxe Edition, which we'd like to give away to two lucky ND community members. (See a full list of what's included in the Deluxe Edition below.)

To enter, simply comment on this blog post and tell us about your favorite song from Moondance. Why do you love it? What does it remind you of? Did something special happen in your life that the song or this album played a role in? Share your thoughts about Van Morrison and Moondance and we'll choose two winners from all the entries.

Anyone can enter but due to shipping costs, the prize can only be shipped to a U.S. address

I think my favorite track off this album would have to be "Caravan" for two reasons: there's just such an inherent sense of joy in the music (I can almost - ALMOST, mind you - envision Van Morrison smiling during the recording sessions), and if it's good enough for Dr. Johnny Fever of WKRP in Cincinnati to play and sing along with, it's good enough for me!

"Into the Mystic" is the song that sticks with me. It has a relaxing, almost comforting feel.

Honestly, the entire album is a masterpiece. Very hard to pick a favorite. I'd have to go with Into The Mystic. Brings me home.

While I enjoy "Into the Mystic" a great deal, my older son was in the high school marching band and played "Moondance" as part of a jazz halftime program. To this day, he enjoys listening to Van Morrison, and I am grateful for the band director who was helping to expand his students' appreciation of a wide range of music. One can hear "Rocky Top" at halftime only so many times, after all.

Hands down, "Into The Mystic". When I bought my 1st CD player.  I also bought my 1st CD, MOONDANCE. My children all became Van Morrison fans because of that song. I used to play it for them when were fussy as babies and and it would "Rock Their Gypsy Soul" into calm and sleep

The only problem with Moondance is side one is so spectacular - arguably the greatest album side of all time - that it obscures the tremendous songs on side two.  If I had to pick one song, it would have to be Caravan.  It's like a religious experience for me.

It was already a long time favorite, but several years ago, when a friend bought a motorcycle helmet that was wired for sound, he let me try it on and "Into the Mystic" was once again, etched into my core.

I'm probably getting DQ'd here, but I've always liked Tupelo Honey better than Moondance

"Into the Mystic". The breathy, passionate vocals of that performance is almost otherworldly.

"Into The Mystic". Great feeling & combination of melody & lyrics.
