Willie Nelson Sings Coldplay and Pigs are Set Free

Willie Nelson recorded a version of Coldplay's "The Scientist" that is used in this excellent short film for the restaurant Chipotle. Yeah, it is a commercial, but it also makes a good point in a soft-sell kind of way about factory farming. The cool animation is by Johnny Kelly.

The short film, which will be shown in movie theaters, is part of Chiptle's "Food With Integrity" program.  Willie does a great job, as he always does.  What do you think?

I think Willie does a great job with this song. Thanks for sharing. As far as Chipotle, I think they ought to be kicked in the butt for having a "Food With Integrity" program given the recent news that they chose not to let folks know that their pinto beans contained pork. Vegetarians had assumed that they were animal-free, and the restaurant chain made a decision to not bring it to their attention. On the plus side, when they were "outed" on July 29th, they rushed to change the menu and description. But still...the irony of it.

I had not heard about the issue with the beans, but it does suck that restaurants don't list their ingredients for people who do not eat meat, have food allergies, etc.  At least they responded.  While I realize they did the short film to help promote their restaurants, it is still better than most chains in that they are trying to do something along these lines, not to mention helping put out a little more Willie into the world.

Great video, thanks for sharing. I'd never listened to that Coldplay song in that way and it works well for their message. Anything that causes  people to give more thought to where their food comes from is a good thing.

Thanks.  I agree on all counts.  And I too was surprised that the Coldplay song (and Willie Nelson's interpretation) worked so well for that context.
