Steve at Telluride #35: Skipping to My 'Lou

Emmylou Harris

Emmy told us from the stage that she's 62 years old. She's aged well, and her voice is tailor-made for this place as the sun sets over town. She opened the show with "Return of the Grevious Angel," a treat to hear, and toward the end of her set brought Sam Bush out, as expected, and they dueted on "Save the Last Dance For Me," a sweet choice as the festival starts to wind down, "Leaving Lousiana in the Broad Daylight," and a rousing "Get Up John." The weather is lovely tonight, so the people aren't ready to say goodbye. I know my blogs are getting shorter, but I'm running out of superlatives. Still one more show tonight--the House Band--to bring it on home in style.
