Sadies listening party, free MP3 and contest

**NOTE: This listening party and contest are now over. Congratulations to our winner Alexander Schkrutz and runners up, Noah W. Bailey and Martin England! Keep an eye on our contests page for information about the other contests we're running. The Sadies

The Sadies have a new record coming out, as you may have noticed from a few blog posts announcing and previewing its contents here on this site (i.e. this review from simon2307 and this one from Rockstar Aimz).

The disc, Darker Circles won't officially drop until 5/18, but we and the fine folks at Yep Roc records want you to go ahead and start falling in love with it now. You can stream the entire album below. Then, let us know what you think the best song on this album is, and why. Leave your vote in the comments to this blog post between now and this Thursday, May 6, 2010, and we'll choose one commenter at random to win an autographed copy of Darker Circles on CD AND vinyl. Two runners-up will also receive an autographed copy of the album on CD. As usual, all entries must be received as comments to this post. Comments posted on Twitter and Facebook, and as separate blog posts on this site, will not be considered. To post a comment on this blog and enter the contest, simply scroll to the bottom of this page and leave a comment in the text field.

Also, as a consolation for all the Sadies fans out there, we're giving all of you a free MP3 of "Another Year Again" (listen/download). Enjoy!

10 More Songs. A musical accumulation of the Sadies!

From first listen- edgier than their last album, New Seasons. Reminds me of my favorite Sadies' album- Stories Often Told. Can't wait to hear these new songs live.

"10 More Songs" is incredible!
It builds, it twangs, it is pure Sadies gold!
Riding off into the sunset vibe.
It's a beautiful album.

I'm a bit torn, but think I've landed on Idle Tomorrows. Hits a lot of strong notes with me.

Whispering Circles. Very Byrdsy.

Listened three times straight through now... think Another Day Again... the wild guitar rave-up is killer!

"Tell Her What I Said" for sure. Love it when the instrumentation shifts and the mandolin solo kicks in. One of their best yet...

After a number of listens, I'll stick with, Idle Tomorrows. Classic Sadies. "With deep abiding reverance, I ask only for deliverance..."
