i have been listening to the cd for two days now. i really like the music, but that voice, like neil young's, is about to scratch itself right off the disc. a little less age, twang and scratch and a little more mellifluoity (word)please.

.... sorry, but that description evokes The Band vs. The Eagles to me. Know which style I favor. Your choices may vary.

Remember - Levon had throat cancer that radically changed his voice. He only started singing again a few years ago.

I love Electric Dirt, and cherish everything I have with Levon on it. When I hear his voice, a wonderful calm overtakes me, and I think about all my friends and family with all their imperfections and how much I love them no matter how they act/sound.

as for the throat cancer, i did not know, thanks for the info. mr. tom, you are a better man than I. As a former throat cancer patient, i should be more tolerant and understanding. thanks both of you.

He was diagnosed in the late 90's and started singing more a couple years ago. My old boss saw him at a gig in New Orleans when he first started to sing again and said he sounded just like John Prine. I saw him live last year and he sounds stronger, but he has no where near the command he had in his prime.
