It's hard to even know what to say at this moment about the passing of Les Paul. At 94, he certainly lived an incredible, long, full life. As the inventor of the solid-body electric guitar and an instrumental force in multi-track recording, Paul made it possible for innumerable artists to reach and move us the way they have.

The AP has an excellent tribute to Paul, and I may opine at greater length later. I also reckon you'll have plenty to say about Paul's extraordinary contributions to American music. May he rest in peace.
