The Medicine Show

Katy Moffatt in concert and conversation with Rob Ellen for Flyinshoes Review.

Katy Moffatt has been described by Maverick Magazine as "A cult hero figure idolised by the more discerning listeners who care more about quality than chart placings".

Her distinctive delivery of country and folk songs show off well written lyrics and equaly well chosen covers of her eclectic repetiore in a dramatic and crystal clear fashion.

This tour by of the UK coincides with the release on Retroworld Records of a special double CD entitled Trilogy. This brings together her three classic albums from the nineties, Evangeline Hotel, Hearts Gone Wild and Midnight Radio.

All three of these albums were co-produced by Katy Moffatt and Tom Russell. Many of the songs performed by Katy were either written by Tom or co-written by Tom and Katy. Tom wears his own as well as the wounded heart of America on his sleeve and is now widely recognised as one of the great American songwriters of the last two decades.

Katy began her career in 1976 when as a red-headed Texan songwriter she went on the road as the opening act for Muddy Waters. Since then she has toured all over the world and is especially popular in Europe and Scandinavia and a regular visitor to our shores also. www.katymoffatt.com
